I come to the church in the Wild wood..I come to the church in the vale....no place is so dear to my childhood as the little brown Church in the Dale....
So here is my problem....My Church is the Wild wood...my home is the heart of the forests of the North West. I worship with the deer, elk and creatures of the meadow......
When I walk through the parks along the rivers edge. When I amble through the river walk or the park in My hometown I feel like I am in a Haven all my own!
When my cousin walks through his Hay area he feels like all my parishioners are visiting and browsing on his cattle food as they stay! Their luncheon date lasted all winter LONG!
A herd of elk ---like house guests and fish---should be thrown out after four days...
The farmer, the "fish and game"workers, local police, and various visitors did their best to get them to leave....but with breakfast served they refused to go back to the hills and forests to actually forage for food!!! Why should they leave when there is a meal waiting for them in the farmers fields!!!
The theory is ....The state is supposed to pay the farmer for the winters hay the wild beauties eat!....We shall see how it works in practice!
For me! I enjoyed watching the humans who were assiduously watching the elk...They were fun to watch!
The elk kind of ignored everyone...Including cousin's dogs, the fireworks people set off to see if they could dislodge them from the "inn"..and all the traffic going through to observe them while they enjoyed my cousin's "hospitality!"
I Have walked these forests looking for the Wiley Pacific N. W. Wapiti!....They can make themselves very scarce if they wish!.... Obviously, these did not wish, to become scarce!!!
